Hello Design Lovers,
Welcome back to my One Room Challenge journey. For those of you who are new here, welcome! I’m Natasa, owner and principal designer of Natasa Jones Interiors. I am participating in a One Room Challenge sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens. ORC has transformed over 4,000 spaces to date and the rooms are incredible. I am honored to have my bathroom remodel alongside those amazing designers.
This week, let’s talk accessories! If you read the previous posts, you saw that I am keeping things pretty neutral in this bathroom, however, I am making sure that through accessories and styling, we are bringing the contrast, warmth and a little bit of whimsy. Even though I want this bathroom to be sophisticated and clean line, it is after all going to be used by my children Sasha who is almost 7 and Lennon who is almost 5 and I have to make sure to incorporate some fun elements for them.
How do I do this without slapping unicorns and Pokémon all over the walls?
I am doing this with art and accessories. I found this mid-century inspired rainbow art on Etsy and thought it would be a nice touch of whimsy.
I cannot handle the cuteness of these bathroom door cutouts. I haven’t decided if we’ll be putting those on the door or using them as décor inside the bathroom. – this is another Etsy find!
We are putting two Siteline floating shelves above the toilet to fill in the negative space… This will be a great spot for bath bombs in a pretty container and this is where I can add some greenery as well.
For the window we are doing a faux roman shade. The window has the privacy glass, so it is not necessary to have the operable drape on it… but I really wanted to add some soft finishes for acoustics as well as aesthetic.
I am being overly optimistic with the white linens and bath rug, but I will commit to it and see how we do with it! Judging by the toothpaste stains on the current bathroom, we might need to rethink this!
This week I received some more product! We have our tub surround tile from Lexco Tile and Stone and waiting on one more. Can it all just be here already??
The status of the bathroom with three weeks to go is: fully gutted and drywall to be installed this weekend. I know this is crazy to think but I am still pretty confident we will get this done in time!
Keep sending those positive vibes!
Thank you for following along and thank you to my amazing sponsors:
